BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY The I&E Operator performs moderate to complex oilfield instrumentation and electrical tasks. Provides assistance in optimization of oilfield Instrumentation, Electrical, and Communications Systems. The position requires the individual to assist operations personnel, the I&E team, and engineering staff in implementation and maintenance of I&E equipment in a field environment. Will provide support to new construction, retrofit, and maintenance operations. Must be able to operate independently with minimal supervision.
EDUCATION High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Electronics preferred
EXPERIENCE Requires a minimum of 5 years of related industry experience in oilfield and/or production operations including a minimum of 3 years’ experience in automation, instrumentation, and electrical operations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Troubleshoot/repair/replace production facility automation, electrical, and communication equipment (I&E equipment) • Determine requirements, specifications and make recommendations for communication and I&E equipment • Configure Programmable Logic Controllers, HMI, Radios, and Remote Terminal Units • Assist field personnel in the operation and maintenance of I&E equipment • Develop quality Scopes Of Work (SOW) to identify detailed requirements of instrumentation and electrical(I&E) work on Devon locations • Oversee I&E and communication contractors working on Devon locations, ensuring the safety of personnel, quality of work performed, and creating the best value for Devon
OTHER REQUIREMENTS • Oil and gas industry experience required • Practice safe work habits at all times • Demonstrate commitment to Devon Attributes • Strong computer skills required • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Able to work within a team environment • Journeyman license or equivalent plus • General knowledge of oilfield operations including plunger lift, electric submersible pump (ESP)systems, and gas lift operations, pneumatic devices, and controls • Able to travel and work extended hours, be willing able to be on call 24/7 on a monthly basis, be willing to work an alternate schedule • Ensure all electrical regulatory codes, standards and EHS protocols are followed • Knowledge of Radio Frequency communications systems, conventional and spread spectrum and familiarity with TCP/IP and Modbus networking is preferred • Knowledge of SCADA Pack and Allen Bradley systems • Familiarity with AC and DC distribution and control systems required • Knowledge of current regulatory requirements • Strong commitment to safety and environment compliance
