Rotating Equipment Engineer - Offshore

Job Description:

The main purpose of this position is to provide advice, oversight and coordination of activities relating to Santos’ rotating equipment with WA’s Offshore Engineering Assets. This position is responsible for the development and coordination of Mechanical Condition Monitoring activities, driving changes to equipment strategies in order to provide safe, efficient operation and maintenance of equipment with an emphasis on predictive maintenance and defect elimination.
 
Accountabilities:
 
  • Development and upkeep of Rotating Equipment strategies to support RMP - Standardisation and Coordination of rotating equipment PM activities including lubrication, predictive and preventive activities
  • Development and rollout of condition monitoring standards, systems and procedures for Santos Offshore assets under appropriate standards (AS2625/ISO7919/10816 or equivalent)
  • Ongoing monitoring and analysis of rotating equipment integrity support to assets in optimising reliability and availability
  • Subject matter expert input to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) involving rotating equipment failure
  • Participate in acceptance testing of new/recomissioned rotating equipment
  • Review and advice for rotating equipment-related Management of Change initiatives
  • Contributes to delivering on cost reduction efficiencies and value creation strategies.
 
Qualifications and Experience:
 
  • Tertiary Degree in Mechanical Engineering as a Chartered Engineer, or the alibility to commence working towards chartership;
  • Condition Monitoring VCAT/LCAT level II+ or equivalent]
  • Experience in Rotating Equipment engineering in either an operational or support roles, including experience with large compressors, generators, pumps and associated prime-movers
  • Experienced in use of CMMS (SAP/Oracle etc)
  • Experience with condition monitoring packages (MHM, Meridium  etc) and structured RCA methodology (Apollo/six sigma etc)
