Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to coordinate the marine support for operational projects and drilling exploration activities, being accountable for compliance to company policies, procedure and ensuring all marine based activities are conducted and executed in accordance with legislative and maritime law.
 
About the Role:

  • Required to travel off-shore
  • Available after hours as required
  • Ensure conformance with SOL policies, procedures and relevant statutory obligations.
  • Management of risks and hazards and the implementation of associated preventative and mitigating controls to drive marine industry best practice.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure adequate emergency response resources are in place, including participation of emergency response exercises.
  • Ensure effective and efficient internal and external audits of vessel operators and vessels.
  • Control Marine Assurance tasks in line with SOL and port authority requirements.
  • Ensure contracting strategies and operational requirements are met.
  • Ensure Contract KPI’s are monitored and met by all vessel operators.
  • Provide support to the HSE department in the preparation of safety cases and environmental plans.
  • Provide marine subject matter support for HAZIDs.
  • Owner of marine related procedures, ensure update to reflect current legislation.
  • Co-ordinate Rig move meeting and procedures.
  • Facilitate the chartering / hiring of suitable vessels for the functional departments in line with Company contracting strategies and operational requirements.
  • Coordinating VI terminal operations, organizing pilotage resources and training to support offtakes.
  • Liaise with state and federal regulatory agencies as required.
  • Member of Incident Comment Team
 
About You:
 
  • Previously worked as Master Class 1 (desirable)
  • Minimum 5 years in a marine senior operational role in the oil and gas sector (AHTS/PSV ops or similar)
  • Experience in operational planning and responding to functional business unit needs (operations, drilling & completions/operations)
  • Strong HSE focus
  • Commercial acumen and awareness
  • Conversant in Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Effective communicator
  • Problem identification
  • Self-management
  • Marine/Engineering related qualification (desirable)
  • TOBISET/MSIC/CSTP
