Overview
This position reports to the Tax & Royalty Supervisor within the Accounting Organization and will be responsible for coordinating external tax and royalty audits, compliance reviews, and data mining requests for the Company’s US assets. This position will interface regularly with Revenue Accounting, Production Reporting, Land and Legal. The incumbent will need to demonstrate strong problem solving, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills and a high level of initiative to realize department deliverables and goals within aggressive deadlines.
Responsibilities
Coordinate audits with regulatory agencies
Ensure timely responses to regulatory requests
Effectively lead audit conferences and walk-throughs
Work with Revenue, Marketing, Land, and others to gather documents for audit requests
Understand the field setup and flow and revenue bookings that flow into the tax and royalty reports
Possess superior knowledge and understanding of tax and royalty regulations and stay abreast of new regulations
Maintain positive working relationships with the tax and royalty regulatory agencies
Work with Supervisor and Lead Accountants on complex tasks and projects
Interact with other departmental personnel to improve departmental communication
Possess strong knowledge of tax and royalty reporting and share that knowledge with others
Demonstrate initiative in seeking additional responsibility
Assist in developing and promoting sound recommendations that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the department

The SEC Reporting Manager will be primarily responsible for leading the preparation of the Company's SEC filings. This will require proficient knowledge of SEC rules and regulations and understanding of the E&P industry and accounting requirements. In addition, person will be required to research best practices in the industry and propose enhancements to the document. The position will also work closely with Investor Relations and Internal/External Communications group and Legal for quarterly filings and other press release materials. Applicant must be able to direct the SEC Reporting team to meet critical deadlines on a consistent basis.
Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation and review processes of Company’s SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, etc.).
Supervise accounting analysts on the team, delegating appropriately, and providing leadership and development to subordinates.
Coordination of SEC review process with company management.
Become recognized internal subject matter expert on E&P accounting and SEC best practices.
Track and document implications of new SEC regulations
Liaison with Company’s external auditors
Ability to effectively prioritize work, establish and execute plans to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and work under pressure with a strong attention to details is required.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills

EDUCATION High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in applicable field is preferred EXPERIENCE Requires a minimum of 5 years of related industry experience JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop a working knowledge of relevant air emissions regulations and applications in Texas • Schedule and perform preventative and required facility FLIR inspections on all operational sites • Properly document findings and repairs in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements • Troubleshoot minor facility operational and maintenance issues as necessary to remain compliant • Coordinate follow-up repair and maintenance work for facilities requiring larger scale corrections • Transfer findings, corrective actions, and best practices to operations and engineering • Perform air emissions awareness training sessions for operations and engineering staff, as necessary • Maintain and calibrate analysis equipment by state and federal recommendations and obtain required documentation OTHER REQUIREMENTS • Oil and Gas Industry Experience Preferred • Mechanical Maintenance Experienced Preferred • Oil Field Equipment Knowledge Preferred • Thorough knowledge of the safe operation and maintenance of internal combustion engines and reciprocating compressors, etc. • Practice safe work habits at all times • Demonstrate commitment to Devon Attributes • Intermediate level computer skills • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Able to work extended hours

BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY
The Automation Operator, under direct supervision, performs moderately complex oilfield automation tasks to provide assistance in the oversight for the optimization of oilfield automation and communications systems. The position requires the individual to assist field personnel, Automation department and engineering staff to implement and maintain automation equipment in a field environment. May also provide installation and maintenance support.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent; associates' degree in Electronics preferred
EXPERIENCE
Requires a minimum of 3 years of related industry experience in oilfield automation, instrumentation and/or production operations
Journeyman license preferred
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoots well site automation and communication equipment
Determine requirements, specifications and make recommendations for communication and automation equipment
Configure Programmable Logic Controllers and Remote Terminal Units
Assist field personnel on operation and maintenance of automation equipment
Develop scope of work to assess automation and communication projects for both internal company evaluation and for bidding equipment and services
Oversee automation and communication contractors
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Oil and Gas Industry Experience Preferred

Intermediate level computer skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to work within a team environment
General knowledge of oilfield operations including plunger lift, electric submersible pump systems, and gas lift operation

Familiarization with AC and DC distribution and control systems preferred
Knowledge of current regulatory requirements
