ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Implementation of PCD network projects for review by system administrator Core hardware installation and configuration or maintenance within PCD or virtualization Define, document and enforce network standards for implementation of new projects Secure Network infrastructure by establishing and enforcing policies. Report systems operational status by gathering data and monitoring activities Prioritizing information and new installation activities Troubleshooting network problems or outages, collaborating with group on changes Current project examples: IT/OT network segregation to meet operational requirements Manage OT system IP address appliances Data center PCD management strategy to accommodate SCADA needs Support new project or data center facilities design needs System segmentation, high availability implementation Existing and new network management Network assessment, and asset data collection Varies obeisance and improvement projects QUALFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION Experience/Skills Highly motivated self-starter willing to accept responsibility and accountability. Able to recognize and solve problems. Actively participates in safety programs and initiatives. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work or mentor trades preforming installation work including Electrical staff. Willing to mentor and teach skill necessary to maintain equipment after installation. Work effectively with others to accomplish organizational goals. Ability to interpret various documentation and drawings for electronic, instrumentation and process data. Including blueprints, schematics, Loop drawings, P&ID's Understanding of SCADA and XSPOC systems. Strong understanding of Industrial networking practices. Knowledge of radio, fiber optic, wired or wireless Ethernet for SCADA systems. Required knowledge of OSI Layer 1-4 networking practices. Experience with installation and management of fiber optic systems or related devices. Must have experience with network systems (switching, routing, firewalls) and in a client facing support role Experience with client/network hardware and software troubleshooting Working knowledge of virtualization technologies including VMWare and Microsoft Must have experience with NAS and SAN technology products Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Hirschman network equipment highly desired Understanding of domain security requirements and techniques including antivirus and firewall rule definition Experience in process control/critical systems and supporting technologies preferred Familiarity with typical process control system components and associated end devices – PLC’s, DCS, real time processes recommended Must have attention to detail and provide quality workmanship. Education/Training High school diploma or equivalent required 5+ years of experience in network administration Formal training or networking certification combined with experience preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred CISSP or other Cybersecurity certifications recommended Work Environment Field Time (“go see”, meetings/collaboration) – 30% Desk Time (admin, invoices, data analysis, emails) – 70% Competencies The Hess Way of Working refers to competencies considered absolute pre-requisites for success.
