POSITION SUMMARY
The HR Manager position plays a business partner role that supports managers and teams as part of the Global Production organization. Organizationally, HR is embedded in Global Production with a strong functional, dotted-line into HR. Main client groups may include Bakken Well Factory, Infrastructure, Land, Commercial, Onshore or Offshore GOM facilities, Production Support, and or EHS. As HRBP, the role provides a consultative HR service and is responsible for the delivery of all core HR activities, whether delivered personally, through Centers of Expertise (Specialist Teams), contractors, or vendors ensuring that all HR support required to positively impact the business is available.
As embedded HRBP, the incumbent must work effectively with all levels of the client organizations as well as partner functionally with HR specialists, in identifying people issues, formulating workable solutions, and be part of planning, design and execution of HR programs. Key responsibilities typically lie in the following areas: workforce planning and budgeting, team effectiveness, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, employment policies & practices, talent acquisition, talent management, retention and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), Digital and others.
Duties include collaboration with client groups in understanding current and emerging skill requirements across diverse geographical work locations, identification and resolution of actual and potential employee problems through analysis of performance appraisals, counseling, and coaching sessions. Duties also include identification and contribution to process and system improvement efforts, proactively and systematically.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Partners with the business managers to develop and drive a people agenda that optimizes talent, structure, processes and culture in support of delivering the business plan
Works with people managers across levels to support overall organizational health, promote employee engagement and drive high performing teams
Delivers high quality HR processes through partnership with HR colleagues in Compensation, Talent Management and Acquisition, Benefits and HR Services
Counsels managers and employees on a variety of HR activities such as workforce planning, performance management, development, investigations/discipline etc.
Take ownership of data integrity for the client populations, make use of quantitative approaches to enable data driven decision making, understand underlying issues, identify risks, formulate solutions and engage stakeholders both in business and in HR
Ensures company is compliant with all local, state and federal laws, either on or offshore
Leads and participates in projects, HR and/or business teams as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
Minimum of 10 years of relevant HR experience, ideally in oil related / energy industry
Self-motivated, keen and able to learn, capable of adapting to new technologies
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and results driven
Ability to deal with ambiguity, multiple and diverse client groups, and drive issues to closure
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage quick turnaround without losing quality, and influence positive outcomes, share insights and opinions on business/HR related matters
Strong written and verbal communication skills; Must be able to effectively communicate with management, technical and operations staff at all levels
Ability to influence and drive continuous process improvement
Change Management - ability to plan, coach, lead or facilitate the implementation of behavioral, cultural, organizational, process, or technical changes
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in a diverse, multidiscipline team environment
Microsoft Word (intermediate), Excel (advanced), PowerPoint (advanced), Microsoft Project
SAP – SuccessFactors preferred
Light to moderate travel for field visits as required including offshore facilities as needed
Education, Training & Certifications
Minimum Bachelor’s degree, in any discipline
PHR or SPHR certification preferred
