Marketing / Commercial Attorney

Provides professional legal advice, counsel, and guidance, as a practicing attorney at law, to assure that the Company, its assets and its activities are legally safeguarded, are in conformity with all applicable laws and regulations, and will not unduly expose the Company to litigation, penalties or claims. Prepares, reviews and negotiates significant contractual arrangements entered into by the Company, including transportation fuel product supply agreements, aviation fuel supply contracts, and other petrochemical supply contracts. Analyzes legal and regulatory issues affecting the Company, including state and federal franchise law (including the Petroleum Marketing Practices Act), competition law, payment card processing and privacy law. Plans and develops solutions to existing or potential legal issues impacting the Company, and advises senior in-house counsel and management concerning the Company’s legal rights and obligations. Keeps abreast of developments and assists in developing and implementing procedures, processes, and contractual perspectives regarding the marketing and supply of transportation fuels and petrochemical products. Advises senior in-house counsel and Company management as to the anticipated legal and other consequences of instituting, prosecuting and defending lawsuits. Provides legal advice, counsel, negotiation assistance, coordination and representation on other Company matters as needed. Participates in continuing legal education programs and other activities as necessary to keep informed of developments in the law, new and proposed statutes and regulations, economic and social issues and other matters of interest to the Company and the energy industry.
