Position Title:  Control Room Operator

 DCP Midstream is the largest processor of natural gas and natural gas liquids producer ensuring the country has clean energy to warm homes, manufacture goods, and produce consumer products. The primary function of the Control Room Operator is to oversee the operations of a defined set of asset(s) against an optimal operational plan.  As operational needs deviate from the plan, the Control Room Operator will work with the appropriate operational organization and support groups to align on corrective actions necessary to minimize impacts of deviations.  This may involve providing operational guidance, connecting subject matter experts and appropriate field resources to identify alternate operational conditions.   Similarly, if other factors such as market conditions necessitate a change in the plan, this function will validate the plan changes with all impacted stakeholders and ensure the plan changes are effectively communicated.   In addition, the coordinator will be responsible for communicating operational upsets and alternative operational plans to all affected stakeholders.  Stakeholder groups may include but are not limited to Commercial, Engineering, Environmental, Health and Safety, and company leadership.

 What you will be responsible for:

  • Engaging stakeholders to develop and communicate monthly and daily operational targets.
  • Continuously monitoring actual performance against those targets and driving/documenting the actions to address deviations.
  • Actively engaging field operations for corrective actions and troubleshooting support
  • Single point of contact between operations and support groups such as but not limited to commercial, marketing, finance, engineering, EHS, and DCP leadership.
  • Providing information and guidance based on a consolidation of data and a broad perspective of day to day operational performance.
  • Coordinating/supporting responses to abnormal operating events and crisis events across the enterprise
  • Tracking deviations to plans and respective causes of deviations in an effort to engage support groups for corrective actions
  • Continually develop and/or improve operating procedures, processes and guidelines associated with Integrated Collaboration Center operations.

 The requirements for this position include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Strong understanding of gas gathering, compression, and gas plant operations
  • Ability to troubleshoot various operational conditions and recommend potential solutions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously
  • Effective interpersonal skills working with and influencing people with different backgrounds and job functions
