Senior Accounts Payable Professional – 6 month contract   Vermilion has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Accounts Payable Professional.  Based in Calgary, this position will report to the Director, Operations Accounting and will be responsible for ensuring that invoices are accurately reflected in Vermilion’s accounting systems on a timely basis. Key Responsibilities Entry of  manual accounts payable invoices into PowerVision and journal entries into QByte Processing of invoices through Cortex Review and processing of employee expense reports Assist the Supervisor with more complex tasks such as recording property taxes, telephone bills and ERCB invoices Matching of relevant work tickets to invoices Reviewing invoices entered by other team members for accuracy Assisting with payment runs Responding to vendor queries in a professional and timely manner Regularly interacting and communicating with field personnel and Calgary operations staff to: Ensure their level of knowledge of coding is adequate Ensure cut off deadlines are met Assist in field requests for data Answer field queries Interacting with Joint Venture Accounting to assist with joint venture queries Account reconciliations Assisting in project work and responding to ad hoc requests Identifying areas for improvement in current work processes.   Essential Experience & Skills 8-10 years of Accounts Payable experience Previous experience with Qbyte and Powervision systems required Candidates must have exceptional Microsoft Office skills A self-starter with proven ability to prioritize and multi-task Ability to communicate effectively, confidentially and professionally in a rapidly changing business environment Strong team player with the ability to build relationships and work constructively with others to achieve business goals Education Relevant Post-Secondary Education Attributes & Characteristics Open and honest team player Positive and engaging personality Flexible, influential and assertive when required   Vermilion Attractions Alberta based, international company Diverse asset base in Europe, Australia, US and Canada 20-year history of market outperformance Ranked among the Top 10 Best Workplaces in Canada, France and The Netherlands Challenging and inspiring environment that embraces teamwork and collaboration Strong community investment and committed to giving back to the communities where our people live and work   Vermilion is committed to ensuring we conduct our activities in a manner that will protect the health and safety of our employees, contractors and the public.
