As part of our global exploration strategy we are operator of two exploration permits offshore South Australia. The position supports and advises the Equinor Country Manager in Australia in a range of tasks to secure business opportunities. Job DescriptionLiaising with government departments and regulators regarding exploration operations Advising the country manager on all aspects of the Australian business context and stakeholders Developing processes and systems for the effective and compliant operation of a branch office. Supporting the country manager in developing the country strategy and identifying new business opportunities in oil, gas and renewable energy, aligned with the Equinor Business Area strategies. Meeting with peer exploration and production companies and building local intelligence to support business development. Providing advice on contracts including farm in and joint operating agreements. Ensuring compliance with petroleum, environmental and health and safety legislation. Reviewing and implementing internal governing documents. Assisting the procurement function for the contracting of local services. Assisting in the management of local external legal counsel. Working with Equinor’s communication unit to monitoring and respond to local media. QualificationsRelevant experience in oil and gas industry in Australia Deep knowledge of Australian regulatory and government relations Experience in commercial analysis and project management Stakeholder engagement experience with partners, regulators and governments Negotiation experience Masters or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, law or equivalent 5-7 years experience is preferred Relevant experience may compensate for formal qualifications.
