Job Description

Overview:

The Production Data Supervisor is based in Marathon’s Oklahoma City office and reports to the Region Manager.  The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise the team of people managing COOP and OBO production databases and tools.  The position has responsibility for data quality assurance processes, analysis of the measurement program, validation of booked production with accounting, and analysis of performance.

 

This role is responsible for integrating with the other asset data management teams, corporate IT functions, and acting as a resource and support to the operations team.  Direct reports will include production data technicians, data analysts, database administrators, and Spotfire/analysis tool developers.  The position requires excellent people leadership and collaboration skills in addition to a talented data administration abilities.  Continuous thought and innovation for automating data transfer is essential. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and provide direction for employees and contractors engaged in production data gathering, analysis, and quality assurance.
  • Ensures that team personnel are providing needed support and training to the operations team in support of eVIN and Procount. 
  • Primary point of contact on all projects and instances which require a revision to the allocation calculations.  Positively interact with all project teams to ensure allocation calculation accuracy. 
  • Responsible for gathering and transferring all OBO production data. 
  • Primary point of contact with Production Revenue Accounting within the operations team.  Review purchaser statements and provide comparison to internal production data.  Act as a point of coordination for validation of key production parameters. 
  • Accountable for maintaining the integrity and performance of asset-specific production databases and ensure data quality and integrity. 
  • Interact with third party data providers to ensure data integrity and develop enhancements to data transfer.
  • Responsible for the personnel developing visualizations in corporate tools, including Spotfire, Tableau, and others as needed.
  • Work to continuously improve our data management processes to further automate to find efficiencies and increase reliability.
  • Positively interact with office and field personnel in a manner that creates an atmosphere of creativity, cooperation, and attention to the safety of all personnel, the environment, and company assets.
  • Maintain good working relationships to help ensure that Marathon lives its values with key stakeholders inside and external to the asset. 

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

Education:                            College degree or equivalent

Experience:                          10-15 years of experience required in production data management and or production accounting.

       3-5 years of supervisor experience leading a team is preferred

Computer Skills:                  Microsoft Office products, eVIN, ProCount, Flow-Cal, Spotfire, SQL, SAP Hana

Other Skills:                         Must possess excellent communication, teamwork, planning, and organizational skills.
