Functions and Responsibilities Responsibilities include preparation of cost estimates, planning and permitting, and designing a detailed drilling program. Responsible for the provisioning of day-to-day technical and analytical support during all phases of drilling operations. The applicant should be prepared to work in a fast-paced work environment with an emphasis on timely delivery, cost effectiveness, interactive work style and sound execution Preparation of cost estimates. Materials and service specification and selection for proper well construction and design. Plan and engineer of drilling projects including technical research, procurement of services, cost estimating, and AFE preparation. Ensuring that the company maintains a competitive drilling advantage through the effective use of technical innovations. Help maximize the transfer of drilling technology to other operations, as required. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent technical diploma/degree 3+ years of drilling experience Experience in casing and well design for horizontal resource shale gas wells is essential Background in directional drilling and anti-collision is essential Bottom hole assembly design and torque and drag modeling are key skills Experience with invert mud systems is beneficial SIMOP’s planning and support Project Management skills are essential Key Competencies Critical thinking and problem solving skills with attention to detail, aesthetics and technical accuracy. Excellent reasoning, analytical, technical and research skills; able to communicate well both orally and in writing with good interpersonal skills. Ability to work well both independently and as a member of a team to meet project deadlines. Ability to multi-task and prioritize. Organized with the ability to multi task while meeting deadlines.
