BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY The Geology Technologist provides moderately complex technical support to Geologists and Geophysicists under general supervision. Maintains digital datasets in PC environments, assists in the preparation of digital displays for presentations and reports, and performs other functions as required by Geoscientists. Coordinates between Geoscientists, other technicians, system administrators, drafters, records management, and other disciplines.   EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Geography, Geology, Graphics or related field or equivalent experience   EXPERIENCE
Requires a minimum of 5 years of related industry experience is preferred   JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Locate, gather, prepare, and load well data into applications and maintain databases
• Generate Geological and Geophysical base maps, cross sections, and various other displays and reports
• Organize and manipulate Geological and Geophysical databases
• Search and generate reports from appropriate databases and applications
• Build custom databases and spreadsheets to assist in geological analyses
• Develop programming solutions to data issues   OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Oil and Gas Industry Experience Preferred
• Practice safe work habits at all times
• Demonstrate commitment to Devon Attributes
• Advanced level computer skills
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Possess a high degree of intelligence, matched with an innovative, analytical creative approach to new ideas and problem solving
• Knowledge of Seisware, SMT Kingdom, and Petra software a preferred
• Knowledge of oil and gas terminology, including types and uses of various well log curves and geophysical data types a plus
