We are currently recruiting a Project Engineer for our activities in Kazakhstan to provide support to the Development Planning Head & Lead. The Project Engineer typically has responsibility for a defined sub-Scope Of Work (SOW) for the pre-project and project works closely to guide and influence engineering studies covering aspects as: construction /commissioning / start up, in compliance with defined standards and consistent with the Pre-project & Projects Objectives.

The Key responsibilities are:
Provide supervision of studies required for the Pre-project Execution Plan.
Propose contracting strategy
Propose Engineering Design scope of work and execution phase to First Oil, Execution ITT packages, and any other critical deliverables for Execution stage of the Kashagan, Aktote & Kairan Field Development – delivering on time, quality expectations. Using the results of these studies study and propose Project Execution Plans for the pre-project and projects to be developed. Monitor, and as required coordinate, activities of contractors and consultants working within the project engineer’s assigned scope.
Coordinate Company participation (and SME’s as required under TSA) for all constructability and Assess & Concept select studies.
Lead/support contract strategy workshop to develop a contract strategy philosophy for the undergoing studies (possible strategy for Execution stage).
Provide technical input and definition to cost estimating and schedule for Execution planning using above market information.
Review concept selection and Pre-project & Project documentation prepared by the engineering contractor, as necessary.
Ensure that all lessons learnt and experience gained in previous studies is capitalized on; including all findings from review are captured.
Provide technical support, as required, in the discussion with local Authorities for the various permits required.
Prepare detailed written reports, slides and make presentations as required.
Support the Pre-FEED stage review (ODR2) by Stakeholders and the preparation of the relevant Decision Support Package.
Participate in the project evaluation reviews relevant to each project definition phase, including preparation of deliverables and follow-up of recommendations.
Provide technical support, as required, in the discussion with local Authorities for the various permits required.
Prepare detailed written reports, slides and make presentations as required.
Support the Pre-projects &Projects stage review (ODR 0, 1 & 2) by Stakeholders and the preparation of the relevant Decision Support Package.

Sound knowledge of development project Economic Analysis and decision making process
Sound knowledge of Global Oil Economics


Requirements
B.S. or Masters level degree or equivalent level in engineering related discipline.
Extensive experience in working as a Project Engineer for a major oil/gas company and/or a contractor providing engineering or EPC services
Extensive experience with oil/gas field capital projects, including international assignments experience in project design, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning and relevant contractual aspects.
