Tax & Royalty Accountant Basic Information Location: Houston Supervisory: No Eligibility Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance strongly preferred Computer Proficiencies: SAP PRA or equivalent revenue systems and Excel Work Experience: 5+ years O&G Revenue experience required with tax and royalty focus.  Experience in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma and North Dakota is a plus. Overview This position reports to the Tax & Royalty Supervisor within the Accounting Organization and will be responsible for coordinating external tax and royalty audits, compliance reviews, and data mining requests for the Company’s US assets.  This position will interface regularly with Revenue Accounting, Production Reporting, Land and Legal. The incumbent will need to demonstrate strong problem solving, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills and a high level of initiative to realize department deliverables and goals within aggressive deadlines. The SEC Reporting Manager will be primarily responsible for leading the preparation of the Company's SEC filings.  This will require proficient knowledge of SEC rules and regulations and understanding of the E&P industry and accounting requirements.  In addition, person will be required to research best practices in the industry and propose enhancements to the document.   The position will also work closely with Investor Relations and Internal/External Communications group and Legal for quarterly filings and other press release materials.  Applicant must be able to direct the SEC Reporting team to meet critical deadlines on a consistent basis.    Responsibilities: Lead the preparation and review processes of Company’s SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, etc.). Supervise accounting analysts on the team, delegating appropriately, and providing leadership and development to subordinates. Coordination of SEC review process with company management. Become recognized internal subject matter expert on E&P accounting and SEC best practices. Track and document implications of new SEC regulations Liaison with Company’s external auditors Ability to effectively prioritize work, establish and execute plans to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and work under pressure with a strong attention to details is required. Marathon Oil is seeking a Network Specialist to work on the Network Operations team. This team is responsible for the day to day management of all network and voice functions.   Demonstrated Experience with the following:   Experience in design and implementation of Cisco Unified Communications products such as Call Manager, with emphasis on UCCX, Contact Center & Unity. Experience with Field Networking technologies and designs that encompass Satellite, Microwave and LTE. Experience working with SCADA, PCN, or DCS Networks Oversees the design of complex networks and assumes the technical lead for multiple, concurrent network projects. Demonstrates specialized network design for remote locations and data center expertise. Performs complex technical and analytical investigations for optimal network capacity, availability, and performance. Provides strategic and tactical direction for advanced network connectivity and vendor code releases. Serves as an escalation point and provides expert technical expertise and diagnosis in resolving the most complex network problems. Extensive experience and deep knowledge of Field Networks Experience with Enterprise WANs using carrier MPLS services. Ability to design and implement complex, large-scale network projects. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network operation and performance issues.
