Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Subsea Controls Operations Engineer to join our Perth Engineering team on a permanent basis.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaise with project Engineers, EPC Contractors and vendors as appropriate to:
    • Develop subsea controls IMR philosophies, strategies and plans for operations phase of project, sparing strategy, repair plans, etc.;
    • Participate with Design and Safety Reviews, HAZOP, HAZIDs, FMECA, Risk Assessments, etc.;
    • Provide operational, technical support and monitoring during manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, testing, SIT and installation of subsea controls equipment to ensure delivery in-line with Operations goals and objectives.
    • Assist project team with and/or develop specifications and procedures, where appropriate, for the onshore testing, loadout, installation and commissioning of mechanical systems;
    • Liaise with Operations offshore.
    • Execute preventative maintenance requirements and associated reviews and reporting to demonstrate the integrity of the subsea controls systems
    • Responsible for carrying out RCFA on failures and implementation changes based on RCFA for subsea controls systems,
    • Initiating and managing technical studies with external contractors and consultants
    • Responsible for management of subsea SPS spares including reviews of sparing, preparation for offshore campaigns, preventative maintenance, software updates including any testing, provide technical expertise on SPS delivered equipment.
    • Identify opportunities for improved performance of the subsea assets
    • Management of offshore maintenance activities to support availability of system
    • Management of RATS for operations
    • Preparation of operations documentation for offshore campaigns including procedures, SIMOPS plans, isolation plans, commissioning documents
    • Provide, as required, operational, technical support and monitoring during manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, testing, SIT, FAT and installation of subsea controls equipment to ensure delivery in-line with Operations goals and objectives.
    • Management of support contracts to assist continued availability of subsea system
    • Interface with Subsea Controls, URF and Flow Assurance disciplines, Phase 2, as-well as drilling operations.

 

Key qualifications, skills and experience required:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • More than ten years+ experience in subsea operations such as installation, commissioning, inspection, maintenance and repair of subsea systems.
  • Major project design/operations experience would be advantageous.
  • Detailed knowledge of software management, analysis and monitoring and testing of subsea systems for reliability issues, such systems will include ICSS PCS node, MCS, EPU, SEPU, RBSPCU and umbilical.
  • In depth knowledge of subsea systems design and operations including monitoring of the system to identify issues.
  • In depth knowledge of HPU, electrical analysis and control system functionality, testing of equipment in storage and offshore deployment.  Familiar with all the mechanical interfaces associated with subsea risers, manifolds, structures and general equipment installation and operations.
  • Lead engineer experience associated with offshore installation, ROV and diver operations for inspection, maintenance and repair of subsea equipment.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards related to subsea mechanical systems, i.e., API and ISO standards.
  • Proficiency in underwater corrosion considerations and remediation of marine growth problems.
